We Got The Answers
On the Kenai River Charters and Kasilof River Charters we can catch King, Sockeye, Silver, Pink Salmon, Rainbow Trout and Dollie Varden depending on the time of season. On the Ocean Charters you can catch Halibut, a variety of rockfish, sharks, flounder, skate, cod and more depending on the trip.
Typically most trips will start in the morning. Fishing is usually best in the morning. This may be very early or late morning depending on what your guide or captain has determined is the most productive time of day. 5am-10am starts are common. Depending on the fish species, our season runs anywhere from May through October. Check Run timing chart on the “Fish We Catch” page for exact date ranges.
ASAP! Our charters go quick, and given some of the shorter timeframes that exist for catching fish, you’ll want to book as soon as you know you want to go! Give us a direct call to facilitate the process.
We try to keep our charters as cost-effective for our customers as possible. You may find slightly cheaper charters, but don’t let poor quality ruin your Alaskan experience! Our trips range anywhere from $225/person for 4 hours, to $275/person for 6 hours. Our Ocean Charters can cost anywhere from $375-$475 depending on the number of species or type of trip. The Kenai Peninsula is a wild-and-scenic, rugged 150 mile (240 km) stretch of coastline in the “Land of the Midnight Sun” that separates from the mainland on the west by Cook Inlet and on the east by Prince William Sound. The region is most commonly referred to as including the Kenai Peninsula Borough, which includes a large swath of wilderness.
We’re based in Soldotna, Alaska, the official borough seat of the entire Kenai Peninsula!
The best time to go to the Kenai Peninsula is in the summer. The shoulder season, May and September, is also a good time to visit. There are slightly less expensive lodgings available during these months.
Soldotna is a small town in Alaska a lot of coffee shops and parks, and many young professionals live there. It’s a growing and pastoral community that is a beautiful place to visit if you’re looking to escape into the scenery of the Alaskan wilderness while still having a few creature comforts with you along the way.
We’ve been fishing since we were old enough to hold a pole, and we’ve been in the professional industry for nearly two decades.
Absolutely! We love taking new fishermen out and showing them the ropes—or the lines—and if you’re going to pick anywhere for a first-time fishing experience, you can’t go wrong with the Kenai Peninsula.
